Savannah Pacific Corporation (SPC) was organized to take advantage of a business opportunity created by the intersection of three independent trends.

First: the company has access to an innovative, but proven application to produce engineered wood products (EWP) from materials that were previously unsuitable. SPC has the exclusive rights to the use of a proprietary reinforced polymer sheet for use in stiffening and strengthening glue lam beams. Beams produced with earlier generations of this material have been proven in the marketplace, and are manufactured under an accepted product standard, PFC 5100. By using this proprietary material, SPC will be able to manufacture beams that are comparable in strength to LVL and Parallam®.

Second: there is an increasing interest and support for environmentally friendly, renewable building products at all levels in the distribution channel.

Third: throughout much of the Western United States, there is an urgent need to reduce the amount of fuel in second growth forests, especially at the wild land- urban interface (WUI). SPC has received enthusiastic support from several city/county/state government entities by offering an economically sound,ecologically responsible solution to the challenges of
1. creating high design value beams
2. using smaller diameter trees from underutilized species

The management team of Savannah Pacific has over 100 years experience in forestry, sales and marketing of EWP, wood science, wood products manufacturing, lumber mill operations and finance.
